Qualcomm, the US-based chipmaker, has announced the dates for its 2021 Tech Summit. The company is expected to announce its next-generation flagship SoC designed to power premium smartphones launching next year. Reports and rumours suggest that the next flagship Snapdragon SoC will be called Qualcomm Snapdragon 898.

According to the official website, the event will run from November 30, 2021, to December 2, 2021.

As already mentioned, the company will reportedly announce the successor to its Snapdragon 888 chipset among other announcements. Nothing else, as of now, is known about the event and what we can expect from Qualcomm’s upcoming event. The company hasn’t revealed anything, but the dates.
However, if we take the previous Tech Summit into consideration, the flagship SoC will likely be announced on the first day of the event i.e. November 30.
What we know so far about the upcoming chipset from the company
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 successor, allegedly named Snapdragon 898 is likely to power
most flagship Android smartphones launching next year. Weibo reports suggest that Xiaomi will be the first smartphone brand to implement the chip into their smartphones. Samsung too will launch its next-generation flagship smartphones with the chipset in select regions.
In terms of features, the chipset is likely to be based on Samsung’s 4nm process. It will be an octa-core CPU that reportedly features the Cortex X2 core clocked at 3GHz, three mid-cores clocked at 2.5GHz and four efficiency cores clocked at 1.79GHz. The SoC is also likely to feature an updated Adreno 730 GPU.
As far as competition is concerned, it will go against Samsung’s Exynos 2200SoC based on the same 4nm process which is also rumoured to be the first chipset to come with AMD GPU.
