Right off the bat, Khandare points to Sam D’Souza’s statement and says, “Sam D’Souza has never denied that there has not been any payment. He acknowledged that a payment transaction had happened and he even mentioned about the Rs 50 lakh and that those involved in the trap were around NCB officials, too. He becomes the third witness to say that the payment transaction happened and it is not good for the NCB.”
Prabhakar Sail in his statements alleged that an amount of Rs 25 crores was discussed between Gosavi and SRK’s team. Khandare adds, “Even Kiran Gosavi has mentioned about the transaction in his statement, although he is not clearly mentioning where the money had gone. So indeed, it’s apparent that those speaking during the payment transactions during the NCB trap, were people who were known to NCB and well versed with them. Sam D’Souza was heard singing praises for them, too. The bottom line is that we were not wrong when we spoke about the money transactions taking place.” Khandare also points out, “NCB cannot deny it. There is a prima facie case against them in this matter.”
Khandare assures that Sail is willing to cooperate with the NCB and they recently recorded a statement in front of the NCB vigilance team as well. But Sail was waiting for the NCB operations team to issue him summons as well. He says, “We had moved an application to NCB that we are available. And we had also conveyed that we had not received any summons from NCB’s operations team as was claimed by some NCB officials. We requested them to please serve us proper summons and that we will cooperate with them like we did with their vigilance team.”
